show Abstracthide Abstract
The American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) is a large crocodilian reptile native to the Southeastern United States. It is one of the two extant species in the genus Alligator, the other being the Chinese alligator. This sample is from a female collected by Christopher Murray, coordinated by Brian Crother at Southeastern Louisiana University, to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genomes Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Olivier Fedrigo and Erich D. Jarvis.
Sample: Animal sample from Alligator mississippiensis (American alligator) for VGP reference genome, rAllMis1
